Following its introduction, just a couple of years ago, this turnkey water saving solution has quickly gained acceptance in the multifamily housing and hotel markets. Within months of publishing results from marquee properties, the EcoSense team built a sales pipeline of more than $11 million from housing facilities committed to the installation of the System.
The Aqua Mizer System addresses the water-wasting inefficiency of tank toilets with an inexpensive retrofit. The system utilizes the patented Aqua Mizer toilet tank fill valve that prevents leaks and protects against toilet tank floods. It also includes the adjustable, flat bottomed flapper that reduces flush volume with increased water velocity for a better flush. And the new Enhancer adjusts the refill cycle to prevent excess water from exiting the drain while the tank fills. The affordable cost of the components is usually recovered from the water savings in six months or less.
The Solution includes complimentary property assessment before purchase, all necessary training and oversight, and optional installation.
Although results vary based on age and condition of toilets and other factors, every property installed has seen an unprecedented reduction in water usage. For example, a 170 unit two-story facility is saving 2,550,000 gallons of water a year. A well maintained, 252-unit luxury high-rise reduced its water use by 2,627,000 gallons per year. Overall, the Aqua Mizer System is expected to deliver a total savings of $15 million to all properties installed next year!
But in addition to the water savings, property owners and managers are drawn to the flood protection feature of the system. After flushing, if the tank does not immediately refill, a component senses a possible malfunction leading to a potential flood condition. The fill valve turns itself off in about 30 seconds, preventing a potential catastrophic flood.
And if that’s not enough, the patented fill valve is so indestructible that it was tested at 250,000 flushes without failure. And the flapper has a five-year replaceable silicone seal. This system, over the long term will substantially reduce maintenance costs associated with toilets.
